Coming from the hotel industry ourselves, we have always had the dream to create our own mini-hotel. With Spinoza Suites this dream came true, in which we could embody all the experiences we had, with an eye for detail and perfection. The suites and our hostmanship are ready to welcome you for a great stay in Amsterdam!
Spinoza Suites is named after the street: Spinozastraat, which honors Baruch de Spinoza (1632-1677), a famous Dutch philosopher of Jewish Portuguese descent. The concept of freedom is central to Spinoza's philosophy, this is symbolized on his statue by green collar parakeets who are placed on his mantle. Some decades ago, a few green collar parakeets where set free in an Amsterdam park and they grew into an entire population which is living throughout the city today. They’re even flying around the suites and you’ll probably see them in the gardens. That’s why we have chosen the green collar parakeet in our logo.
The suites are designed by the Belgian architect Aldo Chermanne, who’s home base is Stockholm. The style can be described as retro classy with an edge. The use of natural materials, such as marble stone from Sweden and wooden oak floors give the suites a warm and cozy feeling. For the lighting equipment, the beautiful Italian brand Flos was selected. Click here to view more of Aldo's amazing work!
Comfort is in the detail, such as heated floors and towel heaters in the bathroom. Super fast and free WiFi. A ventilation system that provides fresh air without having to open the windows. A silent airconditioner that will easily get you through the hottest nights. Thick curtains to keep out the light when you want to sleep late. A fridge filled with complimentary drinks and snacks. And of course, your own Nespresso machine and a water cooker for a fresh cup of coffee or tea in the morning.
The amenities are from Marie-Stella-Maris. Besides having awesome products which smell like heaven, Marie-Stella-Maris mission is to contribute to clean drinking water projects worldwide.
The beds are hand-made by Royal Auping, a Dutch bed manufacturer since 1888. We have chosen the Criade box spring, Auping’s design box spring, which offers a comfortable night’s rest.
